The Brief
For the festive season, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) aimed to create a world-class welcome for millions of global travelers. The objective was to produce a bespoke, 30-minute live Christmas show that delivered a sense of warmth and joy. The goal was to ensure every passenger received an unforgettable first impression of Hong Kong the moment they touched down during the holidays.

The Approach
The vision was to blend classic holiday charm with modern spectacle. Our strategy involved designing a large-scale musical production featuring professional dancers, vocalists, and custom-designed props scaled for the airport’s soaring architecture. To create a "wow" factor, we integrated a high-tech drone balloon and a grand Santa Claus entrance. The challenge was balancing an intimate connection with passing travelers while maintaining a presence large enough to command one of the world's busiest transport hubs.

The Execution
We delivered a high-energy performance that paired holiday classics with fresh, original choreography.

• The Visuals: The show opened with giant white peacock fans and dancers in sparkling white costumes, designed to pop against the festive red backdrops.

• The Music: A male and female duo performed a series of dynamic duets and solos, supported by interactive fan choreography to maintain a fast, musical pace.

• The Finale: For the show-stopping finish, a giant drone balloon soared over the audience as Santa Claus made his grand entrance.

• Audience Engagement: To create lasting memories, the full cast participated in a daily meet-and-greet and photo session with travelers.

BPM provided end-to-end event management, overseeing four daily shows throughout the festive period. Due to overwhelming demand, the run was extended, with our team managing all stage production, professional makeup, and costume maintenance to ensure a premium standard for every performance.

The Impact
The production became a flagship highlight of the airport’s festive programming, attracting large crowds of passengers, families, and staff. By transforming the arrival hall into a vibrant cultural stage, we successfully delivered a joyful brand experience that gave travelers a warm, festive welcome to the city of Hong Kong.
